Charlie Don't Surf "Green Berets Part 1"

  The American Company commanded by James has been heavily hit with casualties during its first couple of missions.  To give it some rest James' Company is being assigned garrison duty of a forward command post.  The under strength Americans are setting up hidden traps and claymores outside of their walls and barb wire to give themselves a "comfortable" defense in theory.  Kenny is covering the south sector.  Spencer is cover the west to norther point while James covers the east to northern point.  Patrols have reported nothing so they are go to sleep that night not realizing that danger is coming.

Under cover of darkness, Aidan is moving his VC company closer and closer to the walls.  the Desperate defenders are using flares to illuminate the sky and spot the enemy.  But each flare is failing to spot the enemy.  It isn't until Aidan is right on top of the northern point that the fighting begins.  His Surprise attack on the Americans misses all the mines and traps and fierce hand to hand combat breaks out.  Spencer pulls some troops to help James and Save the day on the Northern Point driving back the desperate attack.

To the south, Kenny's men are caught in the open and take some casualties from the diversionary attack.  But James is able to stabilize the line and prevent the VC from getting anywhere close to their objective.  The morning sun rises to see a field of dead VC.  It is the first major win of the campaign for the Americans.  The VC company under Aidan looses all of his veteran troops.  There will be little left for the next phase of the campaign.  

(Scenario is original and if it is similar to any John Wayne Vietnam movie it is 'coincidental' and not because I watched that movie a dozen times as a kid....ok it is the Green Berets movie you got me.)
