What a Tanker Rules Review

 

What a Tanker! by Too Fat Lardies is a World War 2 Tank RPG game that can simulate 1 on 1 or small squads of tanks in WW2 Combat.  This is a fun simple fast RPG game.

My Reviews are going to be graded like classes in College; A,B,C,D,E.  At the end we will get a GPA which will determine if this game makes distinguished honor roll, honor roll, passes or fails.  A good game should at least pass with a C average. 

The categories I will be grading are 1) Presentation/Product/Package, 2) Game Rules/Mechanics, 3) Historical/fantasy Cannon Accuracy, 4) Cost/time, 5) Good Time and Memories

1) Presentation/product/package. Too Fat Lardies does not manufacture miniatures so there is no "Package" for this game but the rules do come with everything you need except the models.  The Book is super simple to read and understand.

2). Game Rules/Mechanics. The mechanics run on order dice which does effect your strategy.  The turn order changes every turn based on a role of the dice.  As damage accumulates and takes your order dice away which slowly reduces your ability to move.  Not hard to understand and the game card you can copy from the book makes managing the game easy

3). Historical accuracy.  This is more of a role playing game with your tank but there are dozens of historical tanks included in the rule book which allows you to see how a Stuart does against a King Tiger tank if you want.  It is not crunchy but does simulate well.

4) Cost/time.  You only need 2 model tanks to play this game.  So this is one of the cheapest games to play.  And the games are lightning fast.  30 minutes for a simple game.  Great for pickup games

5)Good Time and Memories.  Though you may not have the overwhelming sense of victory you may get with large battle games.  What a Tanker never gives you a bad game and will always leave you wanting to play it again.

GPA is 3.54.  What a Tanker made the Honor Roll!  This Game is worth every penny!  Highly recommended.
