"Black Powder" Somewhere in Spain part 2

Aidan designed the board for our next pick up game of black powder.  Somewhere near the coast of Spain, the British forces command by Byron and James face off against the French of Ryan and Aidan.  The OOB is as follows. Aidan commands a division of the Old Guard, a division of Infantry and a grand battery with a small cavalry contingent.  Ryan Commands 2 divisions of Infantry and a large Cavalry Division.  For the British, James has 2 Infantry divisions and a Large Cavalry division.  I have 1 regular infantry division, 1 highlander infantry division with the 95th rifles. The Battle begins with Aidan on the French left with the high ground overlooking the town and Ryan on the French Right in the woods.

I am on the British Right with the woods facing the large bare hill the French occupy.  James is on the British left with the highlands the hug the coast line.  My job is to defend the bridge and hold the river line by the church.  James is to cross the stream on the left and attack Ryan in the woods.  Let's see how the plan goes.  (by the way, you may notice the red or blue poker chips on the table.  These are hidden Objective markers with hidden vp values.  You place 2 for yourself and 1 for your opponent meaning each team has 3 objectives.  At the end of the game if you posses your chips you earn those points.  If you don't you loose those points.  These are blind points so we do not know what their values are.)

The scenario begins and I take my defensive position along the creek and James begins to follow the coastline.  He failed a couple of order rolls early on but soon enough the British on the left started to overwhelm the top of the hill.  It looked impressive.

As the battle developed, you can see that I was able to have a defensive position that could flank the French left.  My cannons tore holes through the flanks of the marching Infantry columns heading to the bridge.  Aidan did respond trying to move some columns through rough terrain but failed orders kept this disorganized enough that the 95th rifles tore them to pieces.  On the other side of the field.  James slow methodical advance Punished Ryan's forces and routed them.  By the end of the game it was a major British Victory.  God Save the King!
