Board Game Review "Evolution"

 

Evolution by North Star games is a game where you evolve your species to adapt and survive based on the changing environment and to avoid the predators in the world.  Can you survive

My Reviews are going to be graded like classes in College; A,B,C,D,E.  At the end we will get a GPA which will determine if this game makes distinguished honor roll, honor roll, passes or fails.  A good game should at least pass with a C average. 

The categories I will be grading are 1) Presentation/Product/Package, 2) Game Rules/Mechanics, 3) Historical/fantasy Cannon Accuracy, 4) Cost/time, 5) Good Time and Memories

1) Product, Evolution is a nice board game product with plenty of game pieces to play the game.  There are expansions as well which is nice to add flavor to the game.

2) Game Rules.  Before this past week, I would say the game rules are easy and work well.  However, our gaming group has an individual who can break game rules and we found some oversight in the rules and broken mechanics.

3) Historical Accuracy.  Well, the animal traits that you can use to evolve do come from the animal kingdom and famine and the inability to adapt are accurate to the animal kingdom.  But a game like this can only be so accurate.

4) Cost Time.  Evolution is a great evening game and for a great price.  45-90 minutes depending on how you play.

5) Good times, even with broken mechanics, the game is fun and no one ever has a bad time!
