Bolt Action "battle for the bridge"

This weeks game was one of the most lopsided victories I ever had on the table.  The scenario is simple.  The Germans are to hold the bridge against the attacking Americans.  The American force has a size advantage and should be able to cross the bridge into the town.  But..... let us just say nothing went well for the Americans.

Kenny and James played the American Forces.  They had a Pershing heavy tank and a Sherman tank supporting their infantry platoon with a bazooka team.

While myself and Mark (his first bolt action game) had only a Panzer IV to support our depleted infantry.  Well, the dice just kept coming up German for the game.  Mark was able to rush his platoon forward and occupy the buildings to proved great cover fire for the table.

A couple of unfortunate events happened turned 2 for the Americans.  German Machine gun fire was able to pin the Sherman tank on the road and kept it from being effective while the Panzer IV tank pinned the American infantry when it crested the hill.  Very soon, the American players realized that they were taking serious casualties and had very little support to relive the pressure.

Kenny's Pershing tank, which he proudly painted, was also soon under heavy firing forcing the crew to abandon the tank and leave it on the table.  The dead Americans began to pile up quickly. By the end of turn 7 James waved the white flag and retreated from the game without any American getting close the bridge.  The kill count was 11 kills and 2 abandoned tanks for the American and 0 German Casualties.  The dice were kind this night to the Germans.  See you next time.
