Historicon 2025

 

I know Historicon was back in July but I have always recapped my time at conventions.  This one was special because I played my first game with my son Peter.  And my brother played games with his daughter and son.  

There were tons of beautiful games as always.  This was Little wars TV Gallipoli game from their channel.  

My brother and I always get a game in together at these things.  This was a large game of "Test of Honor."  A Japanese war game that was tons of fun.  Though we originally misunderstood the rules the game turned out to be a lot of fun and team Zeigler won the day.

I played tons of Miles world war 1 game.  Last year in 2024 I played his Russo-Japanese war for this ruleset.  The changes he made were awesome,  One of the artillery changes were made because of me!  Very proud of that.  Miles is the best GM and if you ever see him hosting a game.  Play it.  One of the round Peter was sitting on my shoulders being my lookout and he spotted something someone else was doing and brought my attention so my machine guns could react.  He saved the day for the German Left.

My first game of the convention was playing the battle of Jutland in world war 1.  I had a theme for this convention.  I played the Germans "Gott Mitt Uns". We were brave and bold and barely lost.  Great game.

Overall, this was the best convention I have been too. I bought Blood and Plunder starter set, And bought some Arabs for my templars to fight in Triumph!  I cannot wait for next year!
