D&D Season 2 Entry 1

 Matthew West, heads south with his sergeant at arms, William, to a common recruiting ground for the wall.  Matthew Had just fought a hard battle on the western wall.  Though they had beaten back the hordes of Goblins, orcs and various creatures the battle took its goal.  To perform his duties Matthew needs to find conscripts to replace the losses at the wall.  

According to the laws of the land, the wall may recruit any and all prisoners to serve out their sentence at the wall instead of prison.  Many prisoners even volunteer to serve their sentences out at the wall because at least there is some freedom there even though many will never come home.  So just south of the wall is a large town whose markets and economy run on prisoners who volunteer themselves for sentence at the wall.  

Matthew has come to collect the many hundreds who have made their way this far north.  The wall does not discriminate between male or female.  All can find freedom and glory defending the wall.  While Matthew was there he noticed a Paladin at the local tavern.  Though Matthew does not care about human politics he is very well versed in navigating them for his purposes.  Matthew recognized the simple of the deposed dynasty on this paladins armor.  Most likely the offspring of the old dynasty which was overthrown a generation ago.  Knowing that this young man's life may be in danger because he is not smart enough to hide the symbol.  Matthew recruits him to the wall to give him the protection of the wall for none can be harmed during their service.

In this same tavern, Matthew's senses are highly acute and discover not just one but two Dragonborn in the town.  Dragonborne are the enemy and Matthew orders their arrest and he takes everyone back with him to the wall.  He will deal with them there...
