"Family Business" Board Game review

 


Published my Mayfair games.  Family Business lets you live out the mob wars of the 1930s and 1940s.  Never a dull moment when it comes to putting a hit out on your friends and family.

My Reviews are going to be graded like classes in College; A,B,C,D,E.  At the end we will get a GPA which will determine if this game makes distinguished honor roll, honor roll, passes or fails.  A good game should at least pass with a C average. 


Product:  Everything you need is in the box.  Cards are high quality and the artwork suits the style of the game.

Game Mechanics.  The purpose of the game is to be the last gang standing by putting your enemies on the hit list.  The card mechanics are simple to understand.  There are attack cards and defense cards to save yourself or kill your enemies.  All cards explain the rules in their own print.

Historical Accuracy.  Though this game focuses more on the Hollywood side of gang life but the characters and gangs are all historically real and there are bribery cards that the mob did use in real life.  So for this style of game I will score a...

Cost/time.  The game can be played in 30 plus minutes which is a great evening game.  However it is out of production and cost $50.00 or more on Ebay.

Good Times.  We have played this game many times.  With Casual family gamers or hardcore table top gamers.  Every game is fun!

Final GPA is 3.34.  The only big downside is it is hard to find now.  But If you find it Buy IT....
